Lily was more of a sister to Sirius than Regulus was a brother. Which is precisely why, when they let her in on the secret the Marauders shared, she found it amusing to buy Sirius dog toys as gifts for holidays; he would grin, transform and start playing with them. James always made a bit of a face before beaming at Lily, who would always be laughing. He'd squeeze the toy, making it squeak frantically, and the result was well worth the taste of the cheap rubber. Nothing amused her more than a game of slobbery fetch.
